drinkware — Wholesale FAQ

About us

1. Who do you sell to?

drinkware sells wholesale only, to business buyers: retailers, distributors, brands, promotional-products companies and corporate-gifting buyers. We do not sell to consumers. We make our stainless steel tumblers and bottles at our co-owned factory in Yongkang, Zhejiang, China. Some processes, such as printed logos and part of the powder coating, are carried out by partner workshops, and their work is checked by our own quality team. We supply business buyers worldwide, subject to applicable sanctions and export-control rules and local import requirements.

To start, send us an inquiry through our wholesale page at drinkwarehq.com/pages/wholesale or email sales@drinkwarehq.com. We aim to reply within 1–2 business days (Beijing time, UTC+8, excluding Chinese public holidays).

We use the details you send us to respond to your inquiry and manage our business relationship, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Sending an inquiry does not sign you up for marketing emails. We send marketing emails only if you tick the separate, optional marketing box on our inquiry form, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

2. What products do you offer?

Our range covers:

For current capacities and models, please contact us; the models for your order are confirmed in your quotation.

Our co-owned factory also makes Arabic coffee pots (dallah) and a 1L flask; please contact us for details.

Our products are designed for adult use. They are not designed, tested or marketed as children's products (see Section 10.8 of our Terms).

Ask us for the current product list and the specification sheet for each model. Product details, materials and performance information apply only as stated in the specification sheet and PI for the specific model.

Ordering

3. What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

MOQ: 200 pcs per style for in-stock products (colors can be mixed, min. 100 pcs per color); 1,000 pcs per style for custom orders, including in-stock products with your logo by any decoration method (colors can be mixed, min. 100 pcs per color); 3,000 pcs per box type for custom color boxes and gift boxes. We may also accept smaller orders below these quantities, for both in-stock products and custom orders; pricing for these is quoted separately. The MOQ that applies to your order is stated in your quotation or proforma invoice (PI).

4. How do I get a quotation?

Send us your inquiry with the products you are interested in, estimated quantity, whether you need a custom logo, your destination country, and your required timing. Quotations are issued in US dollars (USD) on the Incoterms® 2020 rule stated in the quotation. Our standard trade term for all markets is FOB Ningbo, China (Incoterms® 2020), unless otherwise agreed in writing in your PI. Unless the PI states otherwise, product prices do not include international freight, insurance, import duties and taxes, destination charges or remitting and intermediary bank charges (see Q5). We quote freight separately on request. A setup fee applies to all logo orders, including laser-engraved logos. It is charged per logo per position (the same logo in two positions counts as two logos), and the amount is shown in your quotation (for samples, in your sample quotation). The setup fee is priced in RMB and is not included in the unit price. Your PI shows it as a separate line, converted into US dollars at the RMB/USD central parity rate published by the China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS) on the PI date (or, if none is published that day, the most recent published rate); the PI states the rate used and its date. You pay this US dollar amount in full together with the advance payment when you place the order; it is not split 30% / 70%. If you have already paid the setup fee for a custom sample, it is not charged again on your first bulk order with the same logo in the same position. On a reorder with the same logo in the same position, no setup fee is charged for any style you order in a quantity of 1,000 pcs or more; the setup fee applies to each style ordered in less than 1,000 pcs.

Unless the quotation states a different period, quotations for the United States are valid for 14 days, and quotations for Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates for 7 days, from their date of issue. For other destinations, the validity period is stated in your quotation. Before shipment, prices may be adjusted for changes in tariffs, trade measures, freight surcharges, export rebate rates or export regulations, as set out in Section 5 of our Terms.

Ordering works in three steps: (1) we send you a quotation; (2) we issue a formal proforma invoice (PI), which you confirm in writing; and (3) you pay, either in full by online payment via our store invoice (the invoice shows the number of the PI it relates to), or by bank transfer (T/T) in USD to the bank account stated in the PI: a 30% advance payment when the order is placed and the 70% balance before shipment, by the due dates stated in the PI. Goods are shipped once full payment has been received (payment terms: see Q5).

Prices and product information on our website are for general information only. They are not offers. A contract is formed only when you confirm our PI in writing or pay the advance payment or price stated in it. Terms in your own purchase order that differ from our Terms do not apply unless we agree to them in writing in the PI.

5. What payment terms do you accept?

Payment terms: 30% advance payment by T/T when the order is placed; the 70% balance is due before shipment. Both are payable by the due dates stated in your PI. Goods are shipped once full payment has been received. Payments by T/T are made in USD to the bank account stated in your PI. Alternatively, you can pay the full amount when the order is placed by online payment via our store invoice, which shows the number of the PI it relates to. The payment terms for your order are stated in your PI. Remitting and intermediary bank charges are paid by the buyer. Please select the 'OUR' charge option when sending your T/T so that we receive the full invoiced amount. If an intermediary bank still deducts a charge, the shortfall will be added to the balance or your next payment, and must be paid before shipment.

Important: we will not change our bank details by email alone. If you receive a message saying our bank details have changed, call your known drinkware contact to confirm before you pay. We are not responsible for payments made to an account that is not stated in your PI.

Custom logo / OEM

6. Can you put our logo on the products?

Yes, we offer custom logo and OEM orders. Customization options include:

  • Logo methods: laser engraving, screen printing, heat transfer, UV printing and 3D raised (embossed) logos.
  • Colors: custom colors, including gradient colors.
  • Packaging: custom packaging, including color boxes and gift boxes (MOQ 3,000 pcs per box type for custom color boxes and gift boxes).
  • 316 stainless steel inner liner: available on request (see Q15).

New molds and lid changes are not standard options. They are considered only for orders of at least 10,000 pcs per style, are assessed case by case, and go ahead only after we have confirmed the project in writing (see Q7). Custom colors, logos and packaging do not need this quantity.

The options available for your order are confirmed in your quotation.

Before production, you approve all artwork, labels and packaging in writing. We are responsible for printing them accurately. You are responsible for their legal content (for example, mandatory warnings, importer details, recycling marks and language versions). We apply the country-of-origin marking ("Made in China") to the products.

See our OEM & ODM options.

7. Do we need to own the logo or design we send you?

Yes. You must own, or be licensed to use, every logo, trademark and design you send us, in every country where the products are made, exported, imported or sold, including China. We may ask for proof, such as a trademark registration certificate or a written authorization from the rights holder. Chinese customs may detain export shipments bearing trademarks recorded by another party, so proof of rights may be required. We may decline orders that we believe may infringe third-party rights, including designs that copy other brands.

If you would like a new design, please contact us to discuss it. New molds and lid changes are considered only for orders of at least 10,000 pcs per style. Each project is assessed case by case and goes ahead only after we have discussed it with you and confirmed it in writing. Custom colors, logos and packaging do not need this quantity. Where a mold is made for your project, the mold fee, lead time and mold ownership are stated in the PI or a separate written agreement. Unless the PI or a separate written agreement says otherwise, we keep the intellectual property in our own product designs, standard products, know-how, molds and production tooling (see Section 13.6 of our Terms).

Samples

8. Can I order samples?

Yes. Sample prices are quoted on request, and courier costs are paid by the customer. If you place a bulk order for the same item(s) within 180 days of the date of your sample invoice, the sample fee for those items will be deducted once from the 70% balance payment; courier costs are not deducted or refunded. Stock samples are usually dispatched within 3–5 business days, starting on the business day after we receive the full sample fee. Custom samples take 5–7 business days, counted from the business day after we receive your sample payment (the sample fee and any setup fee) or after you approve the sample artwork, whichever is later. Business days are Beijing time (UTC+8), excluding Chinese public holidays.

Samples are for evaluation only and are non-returnable and non-refundable (apart from the deduction of the sample fee and the replacement of damaged samples described here). If a sample is damaged or defective on arrival and you tell us in writing, with photos, within 7 days of receipt, we will send a free replacement at our cost, including shipping, once we have confirmed the damage or defect. Samples not reported within 7 days of receipt are treated as received in good condition. Any import duties or taxes on samples in your country are paid by you as the importer. Once you approve a pre-production sample in writing, it becomes the quality standard for your bulk order.

Production and lead time

9. What is your production lead time?

Production lead times for bulk orders:

  • In-stock products: we arrange shipment within 10 business days, counted from the business day after we receive your 30% advance payment.
  • In-stock products with your logo (any decoration method, including laser engraving, screen printing, heat transfer and UV printing): usually 10–20 business days, counted from the business day after the later of the day we receive your 30% advance payment and the day you approve the logo proof in writing. If you also change the color, packaging or design, the custom-product lead time applies.
  • Custom products: usually 10–30 business days, depending on the model, decoration and quantity, counted from the business day after the latest of the day we receive your 30% advance payment, the day you approve the final artwork in writing and the day you approve the pre-production sample, where one is required.

Business days are Beijing time (UTC+8), excluding Chinese public holidays. Our peak seasons are March, April, September and October, so we suggest ordering early. We confirm the lead time in your quotation and PI; during peak season or for large orders, we will confirm it in your PI. Lead times are estimates only and depend on order size and season; they are not guaranteed delivery dates. Transit times are not included and depend on carriers, ports and customs. We will tell you promptly if we expect a production delay. Your rights in case of delay are set out in Section 7.4 of our Terms.

10. Can we inspect the goods before shipment?

Yes. Our dedicated QC inspectors inspect every order to AQL 2.5 unless your PI states a different level, and every production batch is leak-tested on a sample basis. We send you a written inspection report for every order: before you pay the balance, or before shipment if the order is fully prepaid. A video factory tour is also available on request.

You may also inspect the goods at our premises before shipment, yourself or through a third-party inspection company. Third-party inspection is, in principle, paid for by you: you may appoint a third-party inspection company at your own cost, with at least 5 business days' notice before the planned inspection date; re-inspection costs caused by our nonconformity are borne by us. Unless otherwise agreed, inspection follows the AQL level stated in the PI. If you do not inspect, or you release the goods after inspection, the goods are treated as conforming as to any defect that a reasonable pre-shipment inspection would have revealed (see Section 8.1 of our Terms).

Trade terms, shipping and import

11. Which Incoterms® do you use?

Our standard trade term for all markets is FOB Ningbo, China (Incoterms® 2020), unless otherwise agreed in writing in your PI (see Section 7.1 of our Terms). Under FOB Ningbo, risk passes to you when the goods are on board the vessel you nominate at Ningbo port, and we handle export customs clearance in China.

Our default term is FOB Ningbo. Other Incoterms® rules (for example CFR or CIF) apply only where they are stated in writing in your PI. For shipments to the United States, we do not generally act as importer of record. In Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the importer must be a locally registered business, and we do not act as importer of record there.

12. Who handles import customs, duties and local compliance?

Unless your PI expressly states DDP, you (or your designee) are the importer of record. That means you are responsible for:

  • import clearance, appointing your customs broker, and customs classification and valuation in your country;
  • all import duties, additional tariffs, taxes and fees;
  • importer registrations (for example, US customs bond and CBP Form 5106; in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, any commercial registration and import license required of the importer; for other destinations, please confirm the importer registration requirements with your customs broker);
  • the obligations of the business importing or placing products on the market in your country. Examples include packaging/EPR registrations, local-language labeling and point-of-sale warnings where required;
  • in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the conformity assessment, certification and registration requirements that apply in the country of import. Examples include Saudi SASO technical regulations and SABER product and shipment certificates, UAE ECAS registration (and the Emirates Quality Mark (EQM), if you choose to apply for it), the Gulf Conformity Mark (G-Mark) where a GCC technical regulation applies to the product, Arabic-language labeling, and import VAT where it applies. Requirements differ between the two countries and change from time to time; please confirm them with your customs broker or certification body before you order; and
  • in Malaysia and Thailand, the conformity assessment, certification, registration and labeling requirements that apply in the country of import. Please confirm them with your customs broker or certification body before you order.

We cannot guarantee that goods will be cleared by customs in your country, that any certificate or registration will be granted, or the amount of duties, tariffs or taxes that will apply. These are decided by the authorities in your country and may change. Any HS code we mention is for reference only; please confirm classification with your customs broker.

We will supply the documents listed in your PI and reasonable information that customs or regulators request, such as material composition and model numbers. Where you apply for a conformity certificate or registration (for example SABER or ECAS), we will provide reasonable assistance, such as copies of test reports we hold for the relevant model and technical information.

13. How are goods packed and shipped, and what documents do we receive?

Products are packed in export cartons intended for ocean freight. Custom carton markings, labels or pallets must be specified in the PI and approved in writing before production. Products are marked with their country of origin ("Made in China").

You may use your own freight forwarder, or ask us for a freight quotation (quoted separately and valid only for the period stated). For each shipment we provide:

  • a commercial invoice;
  • a packing list;
  • a certificate of origin, where requested (fees for chamber or legalized certificates may be charged at cost). For destinations in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, legalization or attestation of the certificate of origin or commercial invoice may be required; please confirm with your customs broker;
  • the bill of lading, air waybill or forwarder's cargo receipt, as applicable (original documents are released after full payment); and
  • the compliance documents listed in your PI.

Unless we have agreed to arrange insurance in the PI, you are responsible for insuring the goods from the point where risk passes to you.

Quality, testing and compliance

14. Which certifications or test reports do you have?

We list and share only test reports that we actually hold. Each report covers only the specific models, materials and samples named in it; it does not cover other models. For any order, the test reports and declarations we will provide are listed in the PI. Please tell us which markets you sell in and which standards your customers require, and we will confirm what documentation is available for the models you are considering.

Food-contact documentation, where available, is specific to the model it names and is listed in your PI.

Materials are stated item by item in the specification sheet and on the product page (see Q15).

You are solely responsible for any claim you make in your own marketing, labeling, packaging or product listings about the material composition, chemical content, safety, performance or regulatory compliance of the products. Any such claim must be supported by, and consistent with, the test reports or other documentation we have provided for the specific model (see Section 9.3 of our Terms). If we have not provided documentation supporting a claim, please do not make that claim.

15. Are your bottles 304 stainless steel throughout?

Not all of them. Each product page lists the material of each part. On items with a 201 stainless steel outer wall, the inner wall that holds your drink is 304 stainless steel. If you need a specific material for the outer wall, ask us before ordering. A 316 stainless steel inner liner is available on request.

On each item's product page and specification sheet, the material is stated as "Inner wall: 304 stainless steel." Items with a 201 stainless steel outer wall also state "Outer wall: 201 stainless steel." Lids and other parts are as stated in the specification sheet for the item.

16. What can you tell us about lead content?

We do not currently state that any of our products is free of lead. We will make such a statement for a model only once a third-party report from an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory covers that specific model, including its sealing material. Until then, please do not describe our products as free of lead in your own marketing or listings (see Section 9.3 of our Terms).

If you or your customers sell in or into California, please tell us before the PI is issued, so that we can agree in the PI how California Proposition 65 is handled for your order. Retail and online warnings, where required, are your responsibility as set out in Section 10.4 of our Terms.

After-sales

17. What if there is a quality problem or shortage?

Please notify us in writing at sales@drinkwarehq.com within these periods:

  • Shortage, visible damage or visible defects: within 14 days after the goods arrive at the destination port or place.
  • Latent defects: within 30 days after discovery, and within the warranty period of 12 months from delivery.

Claims made after these periods cannot be accepted, and the goods are treated as accepted (see Section 8 of our Terms and Section 3.2 of our Refund Policy).

Please include:

  • the PI number;
  • the product SKU and batch number;
  • the quantity affected;
  • clear photos or video of the defect and the carton markings; and
  • any inspection, laboratory or carrier report.

If the problem may involve a safety risk (for example an injury, burn or sharp edge), please tell us immediately and in any event within 24 hours of becoming aware of it.

Please keep the affected goods until the claim is closed. We may ask for samples to be sent to us or to an independent inspection company. Do not return goods without our written Return Authorization (RA). We aim to acknowledge your claim promptly and to respond with our initial findings in writing as soon as we have reviewed the information listed above. Confirmed claims are handled under our Refund Policy and your PI: remedies follow the order set out there (replacement, repair or rework, credit, and a refund only if none of these is reasonably practicable), subject to the limitation of liability in our Terms. Where a lot is assessed by sampling, a lot that meets the AQL stated in the PI (AQL 2.5 unless the PI states otherwise) is accepted as a lot. This does not apply to defects that make a product unsafe, and it does not affect your other rights under Section 9 of our Terms.

Claims for loss or damage in transit after risk has passed to you should be made against your carrier or cargo insurer. We will provide reasonable supporting documents.

18. Can we return goods that have no quality issue?

No. Products that conform to the PI and the agreed specifications cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded for reasons such as change of mind, slow sales or overstock. Customized products (with your logo, colors, packaging or design) cannot be returned, except where they are defective. Custom orders, including in-stock products with your logo (any decoration method): a stock product with your logo counts as a custom order, so once paid, the advance payment is non-refundable if you cancel, because we use it straight away for materials, set-up and production scheduling for your order. Stock orders with no logo or other customization: if you cancel, we refund the advance payment less the actual costs we have incurred. If a refund is due to our mistake — for example a defect, a quality problem or a delay on our side — we pay the bank charges for sending it. In other cases, the bank charges are deducted from the refund.
